MS. ROBINSON ROCKS ON AT GROVETON!!!

ROCK ON!!!
Today, Miss Robinson won a Grammy award for singing and song writing. As we all know, Miss Robinson has honored us with performances over the past few years. Her singing and guitar playing are entertaining and inspiring. We love you Miss Robinson, but not in a gross way.

Miss Robinson gave an unscheduled performance in room 272 this morning for special "VIP" fans. We love you!!!

MRS. REING CHAMPION RUNNER AND CHEERLEADER

Miss McArdle competed in and won the Boston Marathon. She has been in training for months for this run. Miss McArdle gave an interview, in which she called her victory, "the proudest moment of her life".

It would be difficult to find a more satisfying achievement, but we just learned that Miss McArdle was also named "Most Valuable Cheerleader" by the Cheerleader's Association of America.

She not only runs the race, but she wins it and then cheers for herself. Go Miss McArdle! Give me a G.. Give me an R...Give me an E..Give me and A..Give me a T...what does it spell GREAT!!!!

MOTHER OF THE DECADE

Our very own Mrs. Powers was named the "Mother of the Decade" by the Parenting Association of America (PAA). This is a great honor, and we asked the PAA, what made Mrs. Powers so outstanding. The outstanding qualities include: her ability to cook without dairy products, being a world class baker of birthday cakes, and being the most patient, calm parent in the world. In addition, we understand that she does yoga and likes to kayak. Where does she find the time? We interviewed Mrs. Powers' daughter, who told us that Mrs. Powers "always feeds me when I am hungry, she keeps me clean and warm and makes funny faces whenever I am sad." What more could any child want? If only we were all as lucky!
UNNAMED 2ND GRADE CLASS SETS WORLD RECORD

A 2nd grade classroom at an Alexandria,VA elementary school has broken the World Record for Reading.  This 2nd grade class with the support of Mrs. Vincent has been reading for 3 weeks straight!  They must be tired, but they keep on turning pages.  We never thought this could happen, but they are committed!

FCPS 3RD GRADERS ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD

Ms. Matthews' 3rd grade class has been chosen to be the first students to attend school in space.  They will be travel to space in a special rocket that will transfer them to the ISS, the International Space Station.  They will attend classes and learn about space while living in space.  What a great opportunity for our students.  Now all of that jumping around will come in handy as they float through their day in school.
